Regular check-ups with a mammologist help detect breast diseases at the earliest stages, when treatment is most effective and gentle. It is important not to ignore warning signs and to consult a specialist if any changes occur in your breasts – even if they seem minor. See a mammologist-oncologist if you notice:
- lumps or nodules in the breast, especially if they do not disappear after menstruation;
- pain, burning, or a feeling of heaviness in one or both breasts;
- nipple discharge – clear, purulent, or with traces of blood;
- recent changes in the shape, size, or asymmetry of the breasts;
- skin retraction, redness, flaking, or inflammation in the areola and nipple area;
- hereditary predisposition – cases of breast or ovarian cancer in the family.
Do not delay your visit to the doctor – early diagnosis significantly increases the chances of complete recovery and helps prevent serious complications.
