Ureterocele is most often a congenital ureteral anomaly (it may first present or be detected in adulthood) that can impair urine outflow, cause pain, trigger urinary tract infections, and lead to worsening kidney function.
Ureterocele may remain unnoticed for a long time, but when urine outflow is impaired it can lead to dilation of the urinary tract, recurrent inflammatory episodes, pain and gradual deterioration of kidney function.
That is why, when ureterocele is detected, it is important not to limit management to observation alone, but to assess whether surgical treatment is required.
At New Life Clinic, treatment strategy is determined after urological examination. The doctor evaluates the size of the ureterocele, the presence of obstruction, the condition of the ureter and kidney, and then recommends the optimal option – from dynamic observation in selected cases to endoscopic incision or surgical correction.
