Colposcopy is an important diagnostic method in gynecology. During the examination, the doctor evaluates the cervix, vagina and external cervical area using a special optical device – a colposcope, which allows multiple magnification of tissue images.
This examination helps detect epithelial changes, signs of inflammatory processes, dysplasia and other conditions that require monitoring or treatment.
Colposcopy is often performed after cytological examination or when abnormalities are detected during a gynecological examination.
